Geo Store Router sends each shopper to the right regional store automatically, based on the
country they're browsing from. You set it up once here, and it applies to every store in your group.
1 Assign your countries
In Country rules, use Quick assign to point a whole region at one store in a single
click, or set individual countries. Anything you don't assign goes to your default store.
2 Test before it goes live
In Test a country, pick any country and see exactly where a shopper would land — you don't
have to be in that country yourself.
3 Turn redirects on
In Settings, tick Redirects live and Save. Keep Never redirect search engines
switched on so your SEO stays safe.

Want visitors to change region themselves? Add a floating region picker to your storefront — no code:
- In your Shopify admin, open Online Store → Themes → Customize.
- In the theme editor, click the App embeds icon at the bottom of the far-left toolbar
(the puzzle 🧩 icon).
- Find Geo Store Router and switch on Floating region switcher.
- A region button appears in the corner of every page. Use the settings panel to change its
position, colours, size and text.
- Click Save.
💡 The floating switcher works on any theme — even themes that don't allow
apps in the header. If your header won't accept the in-header block, use this instead.
⏸ One store down? Pause it
If a regional store goes offline, is being rebuilt, or just isn't ready yet, press
Pause next to it in Your stores. Two things happen straight away:
- Shoppers stop being redirected there — the countries assigned to it fall back to your
default store instead.
- It disappears from the region switcher, so nobody can walk into it by hand either.
Your country rules are not deleted. Everything you configured stays exactly as it is,
so pressing Resume puts the whole setup back in one click — you never have to reassign
countries.
💡 You can pause a store from any store in the group, which matters
when the broken one won't open. The default store can't be paused — every unassigned
country falls back to it. Choose a different default in Settings first if you need to.

- A shopper's choice is remembered and shared across all your regional stores.
- Anyone sent to another store always gets a one-tap way back — they're never trapped.
- Search engines are never redirected, so your rankings are protected.
